No. The visible image is unchanged (orientation is preserved) - only the hidden metadata (EXIF, GPS, camera info) is removed.
Everything: camera make/model, capture timestamp, GPS coordinates, and any other EXIF/IPTC/XMP data embedded in the file.
No need for that workaround - this strips the metadata directly while keeping the original image quality.
