URL Encode/Decode
Percent-encode text for URLs, or decode it back.
Percent-encode text for URLs, or decode it back.
Type or paste text into the box and click Encode or Decode. Check "Full URI" first if you're encoding a whole URL and want to keep :/?&= intact rather than escaping them too.
The default (encodeURIComponent) escapes every reserved character, right for a single value going into a query string. Full URI (encodeURI) leaves :/?&= alone, right for encoding a complete URL.
Special characters (spaces, &, #, non-ASCII text) inside a URL component need percent-encoding or they'll break the URL or get misinterpreted.
No, encoding and decoding both run entirely in your browser.
